Hi ladies,
This is such a fabulous little piece of 1980s Mondi and exactly the sort of vintage jacket that works beautifully with a modern wardrobe.
Cut in a short, boxy shape, it is made from 100% virgin wool in a wonderfully understated brown and olive check, threaded with soft rust and charcoal tones. The colouring is very autumnal without being overly orange, which makes it incredibly easy to wear with cream, camel, chocolate brown or denim.
The jacket has a simple collarless neckline, two neat flap details across the chest and four original brown leather football buttons to the front. Matching leather buttons finish the cuffs and are particularly well preserved.
Inside is a rich warm rust-toned lining and the fabulous original Mondi label.
The fit is deliberately broad and boxy through the body, with an 18" shoulder measurement and 38" bust, despite the labelled size 36. I would therefore recommend checking the measurements rather than relying solely on the size label.
A lovely example of late 20th-century European designer tailoring and a wonderfully wearable vintage piece.
