A wonderfully romantic vintage jacket blouse, handmade in sumptuous chocolate-brown velvet and finished with exquisite cream floral guipure appliqué around the neckline.
Beautifully shaped through the waist, it features softly gathered shoulders, long slender sleeves and concealed press-stud fastenings through the front. The distinctive hem is shorter and gently pointed at the front before sweeping into a longer, softly curved back.
The velvet is exceptionally soft, while the contrasting floral appliqué gives the piece its unmistakable Victoriana-inspired character. Style it with a flowing velvet skirt for an opulent evening look, or introduce it to contemporary tailoring for something more understated.
This piece was purchased from a vintage emporium many years ago. Its precise age is unknown, but its handmade construction and unusual detailing make it a particularly rare find.
