Why I Love This

This is AnnaBelinda at its most distinctive: romantic, beautifully constructed and completely individual. The deep plum velvet has a wonderfully rich finish, while the dramatic floral panels bring softness and colour without losing the dress’s elegant character.

I particularly love the way the floral bib tapers into a V-shaped waist at both the front and back. Six velvet-covered buttons and individual loop fastenings add another exquisite dressmaking detail, while the coordinating floral hem gives the long A-line silhouette a beautifully balanced finish.

The label itself began in 1970 and was already established nationally through Liberty and Harrods by the mid-1970s.

Estimated to date from the 1980s, this is a rare and wonderfully preserved example of British vintage design—ideal for an autumn wedding, winter celebration, theatre evening or special dinner.
