Vintage AnnaBelinda Dark Green Botanical Print Dress UK 12/14

A beautifully distinctive vintage dress by AnnaBelinda of Oxford, designed in a richly coloured botanical print against a very dark green ground.

The dress has a softly structured stand collar and full front fastening with large, dark satin-covered buttons. Two continuous lines of dark satin piping frame the button panel, flowing into the unusual curved pocket openings at either side.

Long sleeves finish with beautifully shaped, satin-piped cuffs and matching covered buttons. The softly pleated fabric falls fluidly from the waist into a long, unfitted skirt, completed by contrasting brown satin piping around the hem. Deep green lining provides a wonderfully polished internal finish.

The fabric composition label is absent, but the outer fabric has the feel and appearance of a finely woven cotton.

AnnaBelinda began in Oxford in 1970 and was already established nationally through Liberty and Harrods by the mid-1970s.

Why I Love This

This is AnnaBelinda at its most recognisable: glorious colour, unusual detailing and a wonderfully wearable silhouette. I especially love the way the curved pockets grow out of the piped front panels and how the fluid skirt softens the coat-dress styling. It is a genuinely special piece of British boutique fashion.
